Kroger is one of those stores that you really only want to shop at for the deals. Do your regular grocery shopping elsewhere. I love their store, but I'm on a budget. Some weeks they don't have enough sales worth going for, but other weeks you can really get some deals.
Kroger runs promos pretty often that go something like this; Buy 10 featured items and get $5 off your order instantly. These are usually pretty good deals if you're super careful to buy only the specified products, in the correct amount, and try to use coupons also.
Kroger's coupon policy is what helps me out. I'm under the impression that Kroger's vary slightly in their policy, so check with your store. My store doubles all coupons .50 and less, and triples coupons .39 and less. With a limit of 3 tripled/doubled coupons per like item (i.e. 3 boxes potatoes) . Even coupons that say "do not double" get doubled unless it is a Kroger coupon. My store also accepts internet printable coupons. You must have your Kroger card scanned to take advantage of these savings. These show as "bonus coupons" on your receipt.

I went to kroger today. Didn't see where they took off the coupons from Shortcuts.com. Though I did see the Cellfire coupon showed up and end up making money on the item. Now, I load up the coupon this morning for shortcuts.com
Can we use cellfire, shortcuts and p&g at the same time if they have the same coupon? or is either or? I know ur said that it goes with manuf. coupon..it did work.
Ex.: Anyway, if u have the $.50 cottonelle manuf and u use cellfire $.50, u end up making money $.31
As far as I can tell you can use only one e-coupon per item, but can combine with manufacturer coupon.
If your shortcuts.com coupon doesn't show up and it was not because of another e-coupon, then contact their customer service via e-mail on their site. I've heard they have even credited people back money on their Kroger cards if it's their mistake!
Also, I usually give e-coupons at least an hour to transfer to my card after I sign up for them, just to be on the safe side.
For anyone who is a senior, make sure your Kroger Plus card is the card for seniors. If it's the correct card, you will receive an additional 10% off of any Kroger brand products. I've found them to be of very good quality, and I'm a pretty picky person about brands. The 10% definitely adds up over time.
Where do you do your primary grocery shopping then?
I go to Walmart if I can't find enough deals at Kroger. The draw of Walmart is the price matching policy and already low price. Though they have terrible customer service...

But I recently discovered my local Mexican market, and they have great produce and meat prices.
My other available choices are
Brookshires
Albertsons
Super 1
Save a Lot
Sometimes I stop at Super 1 because it's so close to my house.
How do you know when shortcuts shows up on your receipt?
Thanks for all you help and great blog.

Sometime it will show up after the total right before the paper coupons. Other times it will appear directly after the item it matches with on your receipt. It is usually in a bold font. I think it says Shrtcts or ecpn near it.
