My local Kroger ad confirms the double coupon event on 8/15. I think it's a TX/LA regional deal. Check your local ad here. Here are a few facts about it.
- Double Coupons between .40 and 1.00. Yes, 1.00 off doubles to 2.00 off.
- 1 coupon doubled per like item. So you can't buy 5 Dannon Yogurts and have all 5 coupons doubled. The rest will ring up at face value.
- My store is open until 1 am the night before. The ad will not load until the store re opens later in the morning. So if your shopping at midnight the 15th, your out of luck.
- There will be no overage. If your item is 1.39 and you use a 1.00 coupon. It will only take 1.39 off. The exception to this rule is e-coupons. Possible overage if you use and e-coupon and a paper coupon combined.
- As far as coupon doubling in general. The barcode on the coupon needs to start with 5. Every once in awhile there is a 9 and it won't double automatically.
- Manufacturer coupons only. No store coupons or catalina coupons. Catalinas are the ones that print out at the register.

what about 24 hour krogers. When would their ad reset?- Tiffany referred me to your blog. Its great!
I'm just not sure about that one. I think I read somewhere that different 24 hours reset at different times. I would ask your store.

I can't figure that one out. I know you can get one Yoplait and one Dannon, both yogurts. But I'm not sure if you can get two Dannon's (different variety yogurts). I'm not even sure if Kroger knows the answer to that one (;
I called my Kroger and they said they will only accept pre-printed coupons on Saturday (not IPs even though they normally do). Are other Krogers accepting them? I wonder if I should contact corporate to verify.
I would think if internet printable were excluded, then it would state that on the ad. Anyone else hear this?
Plus, the Kroger website has internet printable coupons for your to print! How could they not accept something they promote?
I called corporate, and they said that the policies for this promotion would be left up to the manager's discretion at each individual store. Thus, I would call your local store and talk to the manager. I called my store and the mgr said they would accept internet printables, would double coupons such as $1.00 off 2 or $.75 off 3, and the limit is 3 of the same products. Bottom line: call your store ahead of time if you want real info & I would be sure to get the mgr's name that you talk to (in case of problems on Saturday). Good luck to all!!

Your store sounds great, is it the Longview store? Its sound like something they would say!
Our Kroger's manager in Dallas said that they would accept IP with the exception of about a dozen that are on the fraud list. They will also accept 1.00 off 2, .75 off 3 etc. He was iffy on being able to buy the same product with totally different coupons and said he'd have to see the coupons.
I just called my Arlington store and they are doubling any kind of $1 off coupon... $1/2 $1/3 etc. :D
I shop at a store in Fort Worth.
I have a list of baby deals. Nothing great really but a $1 more off is still better than nothing.

Our store announced this on Monday morning. I went today with my coupons and made a list with prices. I noticed I have to be really careful. They have gone up on thier prices and even with double it really isn't a good deal. I am better off to wait and catch things on sale. I got a letter with coupons from Krogers today and they are running a really good sale Aug 19-Sept1. I plan to save some of my coupons for that sale.
I have a ? I went through all my coupons and not one start with 5. They all start with a different number. Do you mean if they don't start with 5 they won't double them?

Elizabeth. All mine have a 5. Yours probably do too. There are two bar codes. I'm talking about the one that looks like x-xxxxx-xxxxx-x with the first x being a 5. It's only happened to me one time, it not being a 5. It was dial hand soap.
I'll be calling my Kroger about coupons like $1/2. I actually live 5-10 minutes from 3 Kroger stores and I probably will hit up all.
Is there usually a limit on how many coupons you can use in 1 transaction?

Do you know what the Longview store is doing regarding doubling coupons such as $1.00 off 2?
I wonder if coupons that say "Do Not Double" will double. I know that they beep sometimes, but cashiers at my Kroger's push them through a lot of the time. I am thinking mainly about the high dollar catalinas that I have...

I was in the Longview store last night and a cashier said they will accept 1.00/2 coupons. In the case that the computer does not double them, I'm sure they will have to hand key them in after telling people they work.
I use "do not double" coupon all the time at my store and have not had a problem yet.
Oh, and there is no limit as far as anyone knows, other than the one like item rule. And all store coupons and catalinas are excluded. I'll ad that to the post later.
I just called my kroger in Conroe. We do not have any 24 hour stores up here. They are open till 2 am but said that they would start doubling the coupons at midnight. I might make a midnight run to kroger.

I called the Kroger on N. Beach in Fort Worth (zip: 76137). The manager said they will not double any coupons that say "do not double" at the top.
I live in Houston on the west side. The Kroger near me (Briar Forest/Dairy Ashford) will be doubling all $1 coupons including $1/2. I went in tonight and made a list of prices; as someone else noted, prices have increased and the deals might be better if you catch the sales. I did see a few things: Our store is doing a buy 4 part. items get $4 off. Eggos and Fruit Loops are on the list and with $1/2 coupon you can get them for $.50 / box.
The Kroger in West Houston will double all $1/2 coupons. I went in tonight to get prices and as one earlier post said, the deals are only good if the item is on sale. A lot of the regular prices were high. However, ours is also doing a buy 4 participating items, get $4 off. There are several Kelloggs items (eggos, cereal, etc). If you have $1/2 coupons, you can get them for $.50 / box.
I noticed there are some e-coupons that are the same as some of the printible coupons. Would these both work together?

In addition to the $4 off 4 items (it appears most of these are Kellogg's and Keebler items from the ad) the Kellogg's coupon insert from 8/2 had a $10 rebate form if you purchase 10 items on the same receipt. I'm planning to combine Eggos, Kellogg's cereal, etc. and with the rebate, I'll make a little profit.

okay here is the thing "LIMIT ONE LIKE ITEM PER TRANSACTION" -- this is CRAZY. Would they limit you to only having ONE like item per transaction EVEN if you are not using coupons? I think NOT. We can buy 4-5-10 of this an that on a regular base so why would they limit us to only buying 1?? I think this phrase was intended for the coupon-- as in Limit 1 double coupon of its own kind.
I dont see it in this ad but every week if you look very closely at the bottom it would say something like this:
We triple up to .39 and double up to .50 coupon, the first of its kind, the rest will be taken at face value. > this means that you can go in and buy 5 candy bars with 5 $0.50/1 coupons-- the first will be double to $1 off, the 2nd,3rd, 4th, 5th will be taken at face value. -NOW even the policy state ONE of its kind will be double/triple we all know that the system will do up to 3, the 4th, 5th will stay at face value. ----so what I think they mean is only one if its kind will double up to $1.00 the rest of identical coupons will stay at face value.. so if you have 3 kix cereal, and your coupon is for .75,.75,.75, the first will take off 1.50, .75,.75. because how about if you want to buy more w/o coupons? will they make you put that item back? I think NOT. :)
I just wrote an email to them, hopefully i will get an answer tomorrow, if not I would just test it out first, try getting 3 of something with 3 $1 coupon, see if that goes thru and then you'll know. (fingers cross-- hopefully it will double up to 3 )
now the thing about coupons:
"5" - will double/triple even if it says DND --these are automatically consider manufacturer coupon by the system so it will take it w/o any problem. I have notice that even if it is a store coupon, as long as the barcode starts with a "5" other store computer have no proble taking them
"9" and "5" both of these prefix can be manufacturer. "9" coupons will NOT double, these are the ones you would find on the ziploc bags, blinkies (some) ,catalina. "9" coupons can also be store coupons, maybe that is why they beep regardless if you get the right things or not. Target coupons starts with "9"
"9" and "4" are most likely intended for specific stores, like cosco, "4" are dummy codes that store uses.
"1" and "7" I noticed these a while back, came and left. unsure of their identity.
these are just a couple of things i learned thru my experience and are just my opinion.

And the do not double coupons have ALWAYS worked for me too. I think it's because the store is taking the hit for the doubling part. It's not like they can charge the manufacturer. Thanks for the bar code information!

At this time Kroger will accept BOTH an e-coupon and paper coupon for the same item. The way the registers are set up makes this possible, and Kroger is allowing it for now. Read my e-coupon tips in the right hand sidebar for a few more tips.
I contacted my Kroger corporate. You can use IP coupons as long as its a a mfg. coupon & you can purchase like items. You can't use more than one coupon for the same item. I have a ton of coupons so I'm getting it organized for tomorrow. ;)
-I'm back :) since they are usually slow to respond (email) I decided to give them a call(1-866-221-4141)... and WOW was I disappointed... you see here the deal.. when you call customer service UNLESS the person you are talking with is a couponattic themself most likely they will NOT KNOW what they are talking about. i: actually, when you read the coupon it does say on there "limit one per purchase" this means that for every coupon i am presenting i must have and item to go with it. If i am giving you 3 Kix coupons $1/1 I would have to be buying 3 boxes of KIX.. ONE PER PURCHASE.. simple ask,, how many am i purchasing. and note that on most coupons now a day "limit one per item purchase"

so there you go folks, you can use as many, but the only the first of it kind will double,, remember if this is anything like the everyday policy,, the system will do 3~~.. effy.
REMEMBER,, even if the coupons look different, if they have the same upc, they are the same. be careful.
FYI- I shop at a 24 hour store and the manager said that the system will set for the next day at 12:15. So we can late night (early morning) shop. Also, that up to 3 of the same Q can be doubled.
I called my store in Illionis and they informed me that they were not having a double coupon day cause they do it ever day up to 50 cents!!!! I am so disappointed i just printed out a ton of coupons!
As far as I know its only Texas & Louisiana that's doing it.
This is Kim N in Fort Worth again. I spoke with Misty at the store on Hulen and she said that up to of the same coupon would double/triple; the fourth would ring up at face value. The store on Alta Mesa & McCart will only allow one of the same coupon to double/triple. I asked if I could check-out multiple times (i.e. do 3 transactions in order to use 3 of the same coupons), and she said that was fine. I went to my 24 hour Kroger. We went at 11 and they started checking people out for the sal at 12. I made two different transactions and my total would have been over 200 and I spent $55!!!
I just got home and they did in fact double my $1 coupons for all 3 packages of Danimals that I bought (same exact coupon). I came out at 91% savings. :) :)
Okay this sucks.
I was sooo happy this morning when i went ,, my total was like 260.00 and I walked out paying 57.00,, (10:30am) - I tested the system by buying 3 sally hassen nail polish,, gave them my 1.00 cpns. came out to .29 after tax.
Then I was at my inlaws, Kroger close by, so i decided to go get my mom some Knorr pasta, ,, got there and they were out.. I purchased.

I was soooo bummed. sooo soo bummed.
so. on the way home i stopped at my kroger (the one i went to this morning) and tested 6 pks of knorr noodles, and yup only one coupon double, the other stayed at 1.00.

so i went back and got one of this and that.
HOPEFULLY this will not effect our future coupon use.. hopefully things will go back to 3. or maybe they realize that its suppose to have been 1 and will not leave it at that.. HOPE NOT. :(
